Let me start by saying you can still exercise with ALS as long as you do it safely and appropriately. Unfortunately I know many people who are told not to exercise at all. All they do is sit in a chair and get worse faster. Here are some general ideas for exercise that will help to keep your muscles active but not overly fatigued.
Isometric with 3 second holds
Modified pushups at counter
Modified dips in a chair
Partial squats and lunges with hand support
Diaphragm breathing
Hand exercises
